‘Idli Kadai’ sees another drop: Box office slows down

'Idli Kadai' box office collections day 15: Dhanush’s film struggles to sustain momentum; Earns Rs 32 lakhs

Dhanush’s ‘Idli Kadai’ is facing a tough time at the box office, pulling in just Rs 32 lakhs on its 15th day. After a promising debut, the film’s appeal has fizzled out, resulting in surprisingly low weekday attendance.

Dhanush’s directorial ‘Idli Kadai’ is facing a steady decline in its box office performance for the past few day.Reportedly on day 15, the film managed to collect only Rs 32 lakhs across India. This marks another low point after earning Rs 49 lakhs on its 14th day.According to early estimates from the Sacnilk website, the film’s total India net collection now stands at Rs 49.61 crore for all languages.

Weekday decline after a decent run

The film’s first week brought in an impressive Rs 44.25 crore, majorly from its Tamil version, but the momentum slowed during the second week. With weekday collections dipping consistently, the film’s second Wednesday saw an overall Tamil occupancy of just 14.91%. The occupancy rates stood at 12.69% in morning shows. The film had 16.90% in the afternoon, 13% in the evening, and 17.05% at night.

Star-studded cast of ‘Idli Kadai’

Directed by Dhanush himself, ‘Idli Kadai’ features a strong ensemble cast including Nithya Menen, Arun Vijay, Sathyaraj, Shalini Pandey, and many more.As the film is facing frequent dips at the box office, it’s sure that ‘Idli Kadai’ will wrap it’s theatrical run soon. Reportedly the film will arrive on OTT following a four-week theatrical run. On the other hand, Dhanush’s previous film was the thriller ‘Kuberaa’ which had received decent reviews from the audiences. The movie also featured Rashmika Mandanna and Nagarjuna in the lead roles.
