JDU announces 57 candidates; LJP says no seat-sharing dispute as Upendra Kushwaha meets Amit Shah

The JDU has released its first official list of 57 candidates for the Bihar Assembly Elections 2025, including five ministers who have been given tickets again. Key seats include Nalanda (Shravan Kumar), Sangrampur (Vijay Chaudhary), Kalyanpur (Maheshwar Hazari), Bahadurpur (Madan Sahni), Sonbarasa (Ratnesh Sada), Rajgir (Kaushal Kishore), Mukama (Anant Singh), and Gayghat (Komal Singh). Several high-profile and repeat candidates highlight JDU’s strategy to balance experience and electoral appeal.Meanwhile, LJP leader Upendra Kushwaha is in Delhi meeting Union Home Minister Amit Shah, discussing options over Mahua seat and other concerns regarding seat allocation. LJP sources assert that there is no dispute with JDU over seat sharing and deny claims that seats allocated to Kushwaha or Ram Vilas Paswan’s faction have been wrongly taken. Discussions include possible alternative seats for Kushwaha, assurances about Rajya Sabha tenure, and other options to maintain alliance harmony.With the official LJP candidate list expected soon, political observers await clarity on seat-sharing dynamics between JDU, LJP, BJP, and other NDA partners.
