Baldwin blames truck for crash; dashcam video goes VIRAL

Alec Baldwin and Stephen Baldwin crash: Actor blames garbage truck 'size of a whale' for accident; dashcam video goes VIRAL

Actors and brothers Alec Baldwin and Stephen Baldwin escaped unhurt after they rammed their car into a tree in East Hampton, New York. According to reports, the Baldwins were driving in Hilaria Baldwin’s white Range Rover on Monday when the vehicle swerved off the road and crashed into a tree. However, both brothers escaped the crash unhurt and without any injury. In a video posted on Instagram, the ‘Rust’ actor claimed that the accident occurred because he was cut off by a “garbage truck the size of a whale.” Recounting the incident, he said in the clip, “To avoid hitting him, I hit a tree — I hit a big, fat tree and crushed my car, my wife’s car. I crushed my wife’s car. I feel bad about that. But it’s all fine — I’m fine, and my brother’s fine.” A garbage truck belonging to National Waste Services was reportedly at the scene following the collision, according to photos obtained by The New York Post. However, the dashcam video from the truck, later went viral on social media handles for its contradictory visuals. In the now viral clip, the truck is seen making a turn and driving slowly, when Baldwin’s car zooms in from the right and knocks off a post box before crashing into a tree. Despite significant damage to the vehicle, Alec confirmed that both he and Stephen, were unharmed and expressed gratitude toward responding law enforcement officers.Later that evening, Hilaria Baldwin shared an update with fans on Instagram, saying, “Hey, I’m getting a lot of messages about the accident that Alec was in today, the car accident, and I just want you to know he’s OK, Stephen is OK, everybody is OK. No one was hurt, and that is the most important thing.”The brothers had reportedly been returning from the Hamptons International Film Festival, where Alec served as co-chair of the Executive Committee.
