Kash Patel calls NYT ‘trash’ for claiming that nobody likes him in the Trump administration

Kash Patel calls NYT 'trash' for claiming that nobody likes him in the Trump administration

Kash Patel calls NYT ‘trash’ for its report on Patel’s clash with Todd Blanche and almost everyone else in the Justice Department.

FBI director Kash Patel led a social media drama that took place live on X as he called out The New York Times for its report that everyone, well almost, hates him. Patel was not alone in bringing the drama to X as Todd Blanche, the deputy of Attorney General Pam Bondi, egged him on to comment on the NYT article. The NYT article said Pam Bondi and Todd Blanche hate Kash Patel and they bond over their mutual hatred for Patel. “They bonded, in particular, over their mutual disdain for the FBI director, Kash Patel, whom they view as a lightweight more interested in social media than doing his job, according to seven current and former administration officials,” they wrote. “Mr Patel is supposed to report to Mr Blanche. In reality, Mr Blanche and Ms Bondi sometimes have trouble getting him on the same page with them, those people said.”Bondi and Blanche are also not the best of friends as Blanche wanted Bondi’s job but they have started bonding over their mutual disdain for Patel, the report hinted. They both think Patel is not eligible for the job and in more interested in grandstanding on social media. Blanche attempted first to take the NYT to the cleaners as he wrote a post addressing Patel. “Hey @FBIDirectorKash- the failing New York Times says we don’t like each other. Guess we’ll have to stop hanging out after work? Those dummies. Virtually every part of their ‘reporting’ is exaggerated or fabricated, per usual. If it wasn’t for Wordle, nobody would subscribe,” Blanche wrote.Patel responded, “NYTrash- the journalistic equivalent of crash test dummies.”

NYT hits back

The NYT said the article was based on conversations with seven current and former administration officials with direct knowledge of the working relationships inside the Justice Department. “Seven? Oh okay. Adorable. Maybe next time try someone who was actually there and not in line for coffee,” Blanche dragged on the feud.
