Jennifer on ‘selfish’ reason she DID NOT adopt

Jennifer Aniston on 'selfish' reason she DID NOT want to adopt: ‘Want my own DNA in a little person’

Jennifer Aniston has often opened up about matters of the heart, but this time around, she spilled her heart on something a little more personal – starting a family. The actress, who previously spoke about her personal struggles in trying to start a family, got candid about her ‘selfish’ decision not to pursue adoption.

Making ‘peace’ with her fertility journey

In an early access episode from her appearance on a Wondery+ the Armchair Expert podcast, Jen reflected on her fertility struggles and explained why adoption was never something she seriously considered. The actress addressed the subject after co-host Monica Padman shared her own thoughts about freezing her eggs and being unsure about having children. When asked if she had found “peace” on the other side of that experience, Aniston responded, “It’s so peaceful. But I will say there’s a point where it’s like out of my control. There’s literally nothing I can do about it.”

Why Jennifer never adopted kids

The conversation then turned to adoption. Reacting to the topic she has often battled rumours about, Jen said, “When people say, ‘But you can adopt,’ I don’t want to adopt.” “I want my own DNA in a little person. That’s the only way, selfish or not, whatever that is, I’ve wanted it,” Jennifer said.

Thought she would have had ‘good kids’

While acknowledging the emotional weight of the subject, the actress admitted there have been fleeting moments where she imagined what it would have been like to have children. She admitted, “There are moments where I’ve met someone and thought, ‘We would have made some good kids.’ But it passes within three seconds.”Reflecting on her unsuccessful fertility journey, the actress said, “It just wasn’t in the plan,” admitting that “It’s very emotional.”

‘Ship has sailed’

Aniston previously opened up about this chapter of her life in a 2022 interview with Allure, where she said she had “zero regrets” about how things turned out. “Here I am today. The ship has sailed,” she said at the time. “I actually feel a little relief now because there is no more, ‘Can I? Maybe. Maybe. Maybe.’ I don’t have to think about that anymore.”Aniston currently stars in the fourth season of Apple TV+’s ‘The Morning Show’, with new episodes streaming every Wednesday. Go to Source
