NEW DELHI: Bharatiya Janata Party leaders in West Bengal were stopped by the cops on Sunday from meeting the med student who was allegedly gangraped in Durgapur. The leaders confronted the police, demanding to know why they were being prevented from meeting the survivor after finding the gates of the hospital closed. BJP leader Locket Chatterjee, who was also among the visitors, raised suspicion over the probe being carried out by the state government and said, “If any new incident occurs, the criminal will be let off again. Then the public will forget too. You saw how millions of people took to the streets over the rape-murder case at RG Kar College and Hospital, but nothing happened. After that, it was handed over to the CBI.
