Arshad accepted ‘The Ba***ds of Bollywood’ without hearing script

'I love Shah Rukh': Arshad Warsi accepted 'The Ba***ds of Bollywood' role without hearing the script or song

Arshad Warsi accepted the role of Ghafoor in Aryan Khan’s ‘The Ba***ds of Bollywood’ without hearing the script or entry song. He trusted Aryan’s vision, admired Shah Rukh Khan, and noticed Aryan’s hardworking nature. Warsi’s character’s look was inspired by SRK’s Raees. Next, he plays a serious cop in ‘Bhagwat Chapter One: Rakshas’.

Aryan Khan’s ‘The Ba***ds of Bollywood’ threw Arshad Warsi in a very different light. Interestingly, Arshad Warsi had not heard the entry song for his character Ghafoor in the webseries until recently. The song has played a big role in making his gangster character quite popular. In a recent interview, Warsi opened up more about the role, on how he accepted the role without hearing the script or the song.

Arshad Warsi on Aryan Khan’s debut project

Warsi didn’t hesitate to join Aryan Khan’s first film as a director, which stars Bobby Deol, Mona Singh, Lakshya, and Raghav Juyal, because of his deep respect for Aryan and his father, Shah Rukh Khan. Speaking to Mid-day, Warsi shared, “When Aryan said he needed me for two days, I simply asked, ‘When do you want me to come?’ Then he was trying to sell the role to me, but I said, ‘Aryan, I am doing it regardless because I love you and SRK.’ I did it without hearing the script or my role. I love Shah Rukh and his family. The amount Shah Rukh has done for the film industry, I think it owes him! He has brought us international fame and respect.”

Trust in Aryan Khan’s vision

When Warsi agreed to join the series, he had no idea about the strange world he was stepping into. The only thing he was sure of was his faith in Aryan’s unique vision. He recalled, “When he told me about my entry, I asked him which country the boat is coming from. Aryan said, ‘Pata nahin sir, maybe Somalia.’ That’s [when I figured] the boat is not relevant. I realised that a lot of quirky stuff was in store. Some directors have a bizarre vision; don’t try to understand it, you should just put yourself in their hands.”

Resemblance to Shah Rukh Khan

While filming, Warsi noticed a resemblance between Aryan and Shah Rukh, especially in their sharp focus. He noted that Aryan is hardworking like his father and that both of them don’t sleep, possessing an unbelievable amount of energy. Warsi mentioned that Shah Rukh came to the sets because he knew Warsi was shooting and even gave him ideas about his role. Warsi believes that if Shah Rukh Khan ever directs, he will be a very good director.

Ghafoor’s signature look

The look of Ghafoor, which included a black silk Pathani and kohl-lined eyes, was created by Aryan Khan. Warsi mentioned that his appearance was similar to Shah Rukh Khan’s look in the film ‘Raees.’

Upcoming role in ‘Bhagwat Chapter One: Rakshas’

Up next, Arshad Warsi is set to play a serious police officer in the upcoming film ‘Bhagwat Chapter One: Rakshas,’ directed by Akshay Shere. This role marks his first time portraying a serious cop since his performance in ‘Seher.’ Go to Source
