'Kantara Chapter 1' box office collection day 2: Rishab Shetty starrer roars loud, Surpasses Rs 100 crore in India

‘Kantara Chapter 1’, the much-anticipated film, was released in theaters worldwide on October 2, 2025, pan-India in five languages, including Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, and Malayalam. In just two days, it has received a huge response from the audience. Combining traditional culture, nature, and miraculous stories, this movie has garnered great praise from critics as well. The movie has brought a festive mood to cinemas, especially in the Karnataka region.

Day 1 secures near Rs 90 crore worldwide, a stunning pan-India record

As per Sacnilk, the movie had an impressive opening. The day 1, India’s net collection alone was Rs 61.85 crore across languages. Breaking it down, Kannada has collected Rs 19.6 crore, Telugu Rs 13 crore, Hindi Rs 18.5 crore, Tamil Rs 5.5 crore, and Malayalam Rs 5.25 crore. The fact that the story, which started as a regional film, has created such a stir on a pan-India scale has surprised not only the fans but also the industry. Meanwhile, the official box office numbers for day 1 revealed that the film has grossed around Rs 89 crore globally on the opening day.

Surpasses Rs 100 crore in just two days in India

‘Kantara Chapter 1’ did not lose its brilliance at the box office on the second day either. The day 2 collection is around Rs 43.65 crore as per the initial estimates. The film’s India net collection has crossed Rs 105.5 crore in just two days. Trade sources predict that the weekend will see further increases in collections. The addition of new shows in some regions also reveals how much hype the film has.

Rishab Shetty delivers a unique cinematic experience

‘Kantara Chapter 1’ is directed by Rishabh Shetty, who has also played the lead in the film. Along with him, Rukmini Vasanth, Jayaram, and Gulshan Devaiah have played important roles. By weaving together the lives, beliefs, and miraculous beliefs of people intertwined with nature, ‘Kantara Chapter 1’ offers viewers a unique experience.
