Kannada cinema’s latest sensation, ‘Kantara: Chapter 1’, directed and headlined by Rishab Shetty, was released on October 2. The movie has been getting praise for its grand visuals and storytelling. Recently, Animal filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga lauded Rishab Shetty’s performance and the film’s overall impact.Taking to his X handle, the ‘Kabir Singh’ director called the film a “true masterpiece” and heaped praise for its sheer power and originality.

Sandeep Reddy Vanga calls Kantara – Chapter 1 as Raw, divine, and unshakable

His tweet reads, “KANTARA Chapter 1 is a true MASTERPIECE INDIAN cinema has never seen anything like this before. It’s a cinematic thunderstorm, raw, divine, and unshakable.” He went to call him a one-man show and praise the film’s background music. “Rishab Shetty delivers a true one-man show, crafted and carried single-handedly Rishab Shetty. Special mention to the BGM by B. Ajaneesh Loknath,” he added.

Rishab Shetty responded to the filmmaker’s praise with a warm message on X, writing, “Thank you brother.”

Plot of ‘Kantara Chapter 1’

Speaking about the film, the story centers around Berme, a fearless tribal warrior played by Rishab Shetty, who leads the Kantara tribe that lives in harmony with nature and is protected by their divine spirits Panjurli and Guliga. When the new king of the Bangra kingdom, Kulashekara, intrudes into the Kantara forest for hunting, it sparks a fierce conflict between the royal army and the natives. The film stars Rukmini Vasanth, Gulshan Devaiah, Jayaram, Rakesh Poojari, and others in key roles.

On the other hand, Sandeep Reddy Vanga was last seen in ‘Animal’ and is busy working on his upcoming film with Prabhas on a cop action drama film. Initially, Deepika Padukone was set to star as the female lead, however, later Tripti Dimri got the role.After this film, Sandeep Reddy Vanga will work on ‘Animal Park’ starring Ranbir Kapoor.
