Boney Kapoor’s daughter Anshula Kapoor, who got engaged to her boyfriend Rohan Thakkar in July this year in New York, marked the occasion once again with a family gathering. On Vijayadashami (Dussehra), October 2, the couple hosted an intimate function for close friends and family members at Boney Kapoor’s Bandra residence, ahead of their December wedding.
Kapoor family comes together
On Thursday evening, members of the Kapoor clan were spotted arriving for the private celebration. Arjun Kapoor was seen in a traditional sherwani as he greeted the paparazzi outside. Making a humble request for calm, he said, “Meri ek request hai, baarish bhi hai. Aap log shaant raho. Zyada log nahi hai, ghar ke hi members hai. Kyunke building walo ke apne hi rules hai, apna apna chhota mota kuch chal raha hai unka. Aap log shanti se raho, zyada awaaz mat karo.”He was also heard asking the venue staff to cooperate with the photographers, saying, “Aap bhi unko rehne dijiye. Woh humari family hai.”
Family in festive spirit
Sonam Kapoor’s siblings Harsh Varrdhan Kapoor and Rhea Kapoor arrived in style, with Harsh keeping it casual and Rhea opting for a printed black kaftan. Maheep Kapoor, accompanied by her son Jahaan Kapoor and daughter Shanaya Kapoor, looked striking in traditional ensembles.
A fairytale proposal in New York
Rohan had proposed to Anshula earlier this year during a trip to New York, and she said yes in what she described as a magical moment. Sharing the dreamy story on Instagram, Anshula wrote, “We met on an app. Started talking on a random Tuesday at 1.15AM. We spoke until 6 am that morning. And somehow, even back then, it felt like the beginning of something that mattered. 3 years later, in my favourite city, in front of the castle in Central Park, he proposed! At exactly 1.15 AM India time! And somehow the world paused just long enough for the moment to feel like magic… I said yes.”The couple are yet to announce their wedding date but are expected to tie the knot in December.
