Security forces on Wednesday launched a search operation in the Rajbagh sector of Kathua district, Jammu and Kashmir, following reports of suspicious movement.
The operation, conducted jointly by the police and Border Security Force (BSF), was focused on the area along the Ujh river near Jhathana village, close to the International Border.

Locals alerted authorities about three suspected individuals spotted in the area, one of whom was seen carrying a heavy backpack. Acting on this information, the joint teams began a thorough combing operation early in the morning.
So far, the security personnel have not encountered any suspects, but footprints found at the site confirm the presence of some individuals. The search is still ongoing, with officials continuing their efforts to locate the suspects.
This operation comes a day after security forces busted a terrorist hideout in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Tuesday. The Indian Army, along with Jammu and Kashmir Police, conducted a cordon-and-search operation in the dense Hornag-Watkash forest area.
During that operation, troops from the 19 Rashtriya Rifles and police recovered several items, including bags, clothes, digging tools, and a gas cylinder, which were seized from the hideout.
