Deepika Padukone has emerged as the most-searched Indian actor of the past decade, according to an IMDb report, surpassing industry giants like Shah Rukh Khan. This landmark achievement underscores a female star’s significant dominance in Indian cinema. Padukone reflected on her journey, emphasizing the importance of challenging norms and embracing authenticity.

Deepika Padukone has once again proven her superstar status—this time online. She has become the most-searched Indian actor of the past decade, leaving behind celebs like Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Prabhas, and Rajinikanth.

IMDb report highlights female star’s dominance

Accoridng to IMDb’s report on 25 years of Indian cinema, the most-searched Indian actor is a female star—not a Khan or a South superstar like Rajinikanth or Prabhas.Deepika topped the list, followed by Shah Rukh Khan. Aishwarya Rai and Alia Bhatt are in the top five, along with the late Irrfan Khan. Other top Bollywood stars in the top 10 include Aamir Khan, Salman Khan, Hrithik Roshan, and Akshay Kumar. Only two regional stars make the cut, Prabhas and Dhanush.

Deepika reflects on her journey

Reacting to the same, Deepika said, “When I began my journey, I was often told how a woman must or is expected to navigate her career in order to be successful. However, from the very beginning, I was never afraid to ask questions, ruffle feathers, walk a more difficult path and challenge the status quo in order to reshape the mould we have all been expected to fit into.”Elaborating further, she added, “The new mom added, “The faith my family, fans and collaborators have had in me, have also empowered me to make the choices and decisions that I have, hopefully forever altering the path those after me will tread. IMDb’s Report on 25 Years of Indian Cinema further validates and strengthens my belief that honesty, authenticity and resilience matter, and that by being true to your core beliefs with consistency, change is possible.”On the work front, she will be seen opposite Allu Arjun in his upcoming collaboration with Atlee, tentatively titled AA22xA6. She will then reunite with Shah Rukh Khan in Siddharth Anand’s King. Both films are slated to release in 2026.
