United States (US) President Donald Trump said that they were “beyond very close” to ending the war in Gaza after meeting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House, while presenting a 20-point peace plan.

President Trump called Monday a “historic day for peace” as he spoke at a news conference with Netanyahu at his side.

Netanyahu praised Trump, saying: “I support your plan to end the war in Gaza, which achieves our war aims.”

The US president said he was “hearing that Hamas wants to get this done too”. “Everyone else has accepted it,” said Trump, but added that if Hamas fails to agree to the plan “as you know, Bibi [Netanyahu], you’d have our full backing to do what you would have to do”.

Trump said: “Netanyahu was very clear about his opposition to a Palestinian state… and I understand and respect his position on many things, but what he’s doing today is so good for Israel.”

He noted that a number of allies have “foolishly recognised the Palestinian state… but they’re really, I think, doing that because they’re very tired of what’s going on”.

Taking the floor, Netanyahu thanked Trump for his hospitality and for his friendship and leadership.

“While you focus at home on making America great again, your leadership abroad is changing the world for the better: ending wars and advancing peace,” the Israeli PM said, adding, “I believe that today, we are taking a critical step towards both ending the war in Gaza and setting the stage for dramatically advancing peace in the Middle East and I think beyond the Middle East — very important Muslim countries.”

“I support your plan to end the war in Gaza, which achieves our war aims,” Netanyahu said to Trump. “It will bring back to Israel all of our hostages, dismantle Hamas’ military capabilities and its political rule and ensure that Gaza never again poses a threat to Israel.”

What Pakistan’s moves mean

Pakistan formally announced support for President Trump’s Gaza Plan, with its Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on X. Trump thanked Sharif and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir for their support of the plan.

Munir met Trump and brief about the issues at White House. As per sources, Pakistan will enjoy full support of the United States, Western Powers, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain and other gulf states.

According to sources, Pakistan will likely join Abraham Accords soon after the establishment of Palestine state — by this act Pakistan may have full access and status of NATO Membership likely.

Pakistan may get a super economic package by entering Abraham Accord and If Israel agrees two-states solution; then Pakistan and Israel may establish diplomatic ties too.

The source also hinted that Trump administration is eyeing Bagram Airbase and If United States wants to get it back, then Pakistan would be its front line major non-NATO ally in the region and this could haunt India more than anyone else.
