According to sources, after Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and army chief Field Marshal Asim Munir met Trump at the White House on September 25, Islamabad has backed the President’s 20-point plan for Gaza and is considering joining the Abraham Accords Declaration — a US-brokered agreement between Israel and several Middle Eastern countries.

Shehbaz Sharif expressed his support for the Gaza plan on social media. “We welcome President Trump’s 20-point plan to ensure an end to the war in Gaza,” he wrote in a post on X. “I am also convinced that durable peace between the Palestinian people and Israel would be essential in bringing political stability and economic growth to the region.”

Shehbaz praised Trump’s leadership and the role of special envoy Steve Witkoff in ending the Israel-Hamas war. He said he strongly believes that implementing the two-state proposal is crucial to ensuring lasting peace in the region.

“It is my firm belief that President Trump is fully prepared to assist in whatever way necessary to make this extremely important and urgent understanding a reality. I laud President Trump’s leadership and the vital role played by Special Envoy Steve Witkoff in bringing an end to this war. I also strongly believe that the implementation of the two state proposal is essential to ensure lasting peace in the region,” he added.

Here are the key points of Trump’s Gaza plan:

  1. Disarming Hamas
  2. Establishing a transitional government in Gaza
  3. Forming a “peace army” of Muslim nations
  4. This peace army will control Gaza
  5. Granting amnesty to Hamas members
  6. Israel’s withdrawal from Gaza
  7. Rebuilding Gaza and the West Bank
  8. Arab and Muslim countries funding the plan
  9. Pakistan playing a key role in Gaza.

The sources said Pakistan will enjoy full support from the United States, western nations, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain, and other Gulf states. India’s neighbour may gain full access and status of NATO membership and receive a significant economic package by entering the Abraham Accords, they said. If Israel agrees to a two-state solution, Pakistan and Israel may also establish diplomatic relations, they added.
