A 5.6-magnitude earthquake hit China’s Gansu. China Earthquake Administration activated emergency response and rescue operation is underway.

A 5.6-magnitude earthquake hit Longxi county in Dingxi, Northwest China’s Gansu Province at 5:49 am on Saturday, as reported by the China Earthquake Networks Center (CENC). The epicenter was located at 34.91 degrees north latitude and 104.58 degrees east longitude, with the earthquake occurring at a depth of 10 kilometers, the CENC confirmed.
Following the earthquake, the China Earthquake Administration (CEA) promptly initiated a Level-3 emergency response. This response mandates relevant units to conduct joint consultations, enhance earthquake monitoring and post-earthquake trend analysis, and swiftly report pertinent information.

Currently, the Gansu local earthquake administration has dispatched an on-site team to the affected area to assist the local government in emergency response efforts, according to the Xinhua News Agency on Saturday.
