Tej Pratap Yadav Launches New Party Jan Shakti Janata Dal Ahead Of Bihar Assembly Elections

In a major political twist ahead of the Bihar Assembly elections, Tej Pratap Yadav, elder son of RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav, has officially launched his new political party named Jan Shakti Janata Dal (JSJD). Taking to social media platform X, Tej Pratap declared himself as the party’s national president and unveiled the party’s proposed symbol, a “blackboard.” While it remains unclear whether the Election Commission has allotted this symbol yet, the announcement has already generated significant buzz in Bihar’s political circles. The party’s posters notably excluded images of his parents, Lalu Prasad Yadav and Rabri Devi, instead featuring Mahatma Gandhi, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, Ram Manohar Lohia, Karpoori Thakur, and Jayaprakash Narayan. This is being seen as an attempt to craft an independent identity and appeal to a broader ideological base. Tej Pratap has given the slogan “Jan-Jan Ki Shakti, Jan-Jan Ka Raj,” emphasizing social justice, complete transformation, and holistic development in Bihar.Political observers believe this move may create fresh challenges for RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, intensifying the family’s political rivalry. With multiple new entrants, including Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraaj, Bihar’s upcoming election is expected to be fiercely competitive.
