Tabitha Bundrick, a resident of New York, has been indicted for allegedly drugging and robbing men she lured home, leading to three deaths over a span of 10 months. Prosecutors said the murders took place between April 2023 and February 2024 in Washington Heights.

Manhattan District Attorney Alvin L. Bragg described the conduct as “extremely calculated” and “callous.” At a news conference, he said, “This type of behavior will not be tolerated in Manhattan. We are focused on holding the people who do this accountable, supporting the victims and their loved ones,” Bragg was quoted as saying by the Associated Press.

Bundrick, 36, has been charged with 11 counts, including three counts of murder, robbery, burglary and assault.

Bundrick is accused of offering drugs and sex to lure her targets and then incapacitating them with fentanyl-laced substances. Once the men were unconscious, prosecutors said she stole cash, phones, sneakers, credit cards and other belongings.

Investigators found she later used the stolen cards and resold items she carried away in bags. Prosecutors said her actions were part of a repeated pattern that exploited vulnerable men in her neighborhood.

How The Murders Happened

On April 20, 2023, Bundrick approached two men, offering sex for money and taking them to an empty apartment she had broken into. She allegedly gave them fentanyl-laced drugs. The next morning, one man awoke to find his belongings missing and his friend, 42-year-old Mario Paullan, dead beside him.

Months later, on September 27, Bundrick met 39-year-old Miguel Navez and went back to his apartment. Three days later, he was found dead by his brother.

The third fatal case took place on February 25, 2024, when Bundrick followed 34-year-old Abrihan Fernandez into his apartment. She gave him fentanyl-laced drugs, prosecutors said, and later returned to leave with multiple large bags. Fernandez’s credit card was later used several times.

What Charges She Faces

Bundrick pleaded not guilty to the state charges on Wednesday. If convicted of murder, she faces a maximum sentence of 25 years to life in prison. She is currently held at the Rikers Island jail complex on related burglary charges.

Separately, Bundrick has already pleaded guilty in a federal case tied to the same deaths and, in August this year, was sentenced to 13 years in prison for narcotics distribution. That sentence will run concurrently with any punishment in the state case.

What Her Defense Said: ’Victim Of Sexual Abuse’

Her lawyers argue she is not a “calculated killer” but a victim of childhood sexual abuse whose intellectual functioning is equivalent to a third-grade level. They said she shared the same drugs with the men and did not intend to kill them, according to a report by the New York Times.

Federal prosecutors countered that Bundrick “knew fentanyl could kill” and still continued giving it to multiple men while stealing from them. They said her pattern showed she was fully aware of the risks but persisted anyway.
