Shah Rukh Khan could have put his foot down for ‘Ghante Ka Badshah’

Rajat Bedi: Shah Rukh Khan could have put his foot down for 'Ghante Ka Badshah'

Rajat Bedi makes a comeback after a decade in Aryan Khan’s debut show, ‘The Ba***ds of Bollywood,’ portraying a struggling actor. He shares screen space with Shah Rukh Khan, who plays himself, in a humorous scene where Rajat’s character playfully forgets SRK’s name. Rajat praises Shah Rukh’s generosity and Aryan’s supportive direction during the filming process.

After a hiatus of more than a decade actor Rajat Bedi who has worked with names like Akshay Kumar, Salman Khan and Sunny Deol to name a few is back in the industry with Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan’s debut show The Ba***ds of Bollywood. In the show he plays an actor who is looking for work even after being in the industry for 15 years. Wherever he goes he tries to remind people who he is and what his name is … and ultimately the one person who does remember him and his name was Shah Rukh Khan. King Khan plays himself in the show and in return Rajat’s character is acting as if he doesn’ recognise the Badshah of Bollywood and asks him’ Shah Rukh, right?’ and this makes SRK very upset. Opening up about being one of the only three actors who got a chance to have a dialogue with Shah Rukh Khan, in his interview with ETimes he said , “ I don’t know how to express myself. I was nervous as hell.. I have worked with him behind the screen as an assistant director in Zamaana Deewana. And from that time to now, he has grown so much. He is not a superstar , he is a feeling. He is full of aura.”. Rajat also revealed how Aryan Khan, who is making his directorial debut with the series, helped him through the process. “Aryan has been so sweet. I kept on telling him what are you making me say to him( Shah Rukh Khan) and he’d be .. it’s dad … it’s cool. Because other actors will never allow you to say all this. I know how the industry works. I have worked with most of the actors. And I know how during lines, they actually get involved and they tell the director to change lines. This guy is not going to tell me this. This guy is not going to behave like this with me. This guy is not going to hit me like that. It’s happened in my career. So I know exactly.”He then highlighted Shah Rukh Khan’s remarkable generosity as an actor. “But here,Shah Rukh could have put his foot down. He could have said you are not doing this scene, you are not doing ‘Ghante Ka Baadshah’etc but Shah Rukh has been so giving. He would say ‘Please do it. Go ahead’.He did everything which was Aryan’s vision.” A King is always a King and Shah Rukh Khan proves that.
