US President Trump meets Shehbaz Sharif in NYC; holds talks with Arab world leaders – Watch

Pak PM meets Donald Trump on the sidelines of UNGA

Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met US President Donald Trump on Tuesday on the sidelines of United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York.Pak PM was invited in a meeting of the Arab Islamic leaders hosted by Trump and Qatar Emir Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani. The meeting was attended by leaders of Turkey, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, Pakistan, Egypt, the UAE and Jordan.According to a statement by Pakistan’s foreign office on X, “Informal exchange followed the dialogue between President Trump and leaders of eight Islamic-Arab countries, including Pakistan.” Shehbaz Sharif led the Pakistani delegation to the high-level segment UNGA, accompanied by his foreign minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar. The meeting was aimed at exploring diplomatic, political and humanitarian options for de-escalating the conflict in Gaza.Following the meeting, Trump did not address the press and went without commenting on the atkeaways of the meeting, and there was no immediate comment from the White House.Trump also addressed the United Nations General Assembly on Tuesday, first time since his return to the Oval Office. During his speech, Trump again claimed he had ended seven wars in seven months, including the conflict between India and Pakistan.
