It was a milestone evening for both stars. After over 30 years in films, Shah Rukh Khan won his very first National Award, taking home Best Actor for his role in Jawan. Rani Mukerji also bagged her first National Award, winning Best Actress for her deeply moving performance in Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway.

For the occasion, she wore a brown silk saree with a golden border, paired with a half-sleeved blouse. But the highlight was Shah Rukh’s sweet gesture — as Rani took her seat, he carefully held her saree’s pallu to make sure it didn’t get caught in the drape. In another clip, Shah Rukh was seen sweetly fixing Rani’s hair while chatting with her, and even gave her a gentle kiss on the cheek.
