NEW DELHI: To ensure better compliance by companies in passing on benefits of GST reduction on products from Monday, the govt has created a dedicated category on National Consumer Helpline’s INGRAM portal for registering complaints related to revised GST rates and their redressal. Consumers can also call the toll-free number – 1915 – to report any issues. The consumer affairs dept said the helpline will also share “data and insights generated from consumer complaints” with companies, CBIC, and other authorities for timely action. “This initiative will strengthen GST compliance and promote participatory governance by empowering consumers as stakeholders in fair practices,” it added.
