Malayalam actor Unni Mukundan has been summoned by the Kakkanad Magistrate’s Court in connection with an assault case filed by his former manager, Vipin Kumar.As reported by Manorama Online, the court has directed the ‘Maa Vande’ actor to appear in person on September 27. The case dates back to May this year when Vipin Kumar lodged a complaint with the Infopark Police, accusing the actor of physically and verbally assaulting him. The police registered a case under bailable provisions, including assault and use of abusive language.
Actor denies allegations, calls them ‘False’
Unni Mukundan, however, has strongly denied the charges. Earlier, the actor took to social media to issue a detailed statement. Unni Mukundan dismissed the claims as “false” and clarifying that Vipin Kumar was never appointed as his manager.In his Instagram note, Unni Mukundan accused Vipin Kumar of spreading lies and gossip. He also said that the entire controversy was fabricated. According to Vipin Kumar’s complaint, a social media review for a film triggered the actor, leading to an alleged altercation where Unni Mukundan reportedly assaulted and verbally abused him.This isn’t the first time the matter reached the courts. On May 31, the Ernakulam District Court considered Unni Mukundan’s anticipatory bail application, noting that only bailable sections had been charged. The court also allowed the police to proceed with their investigation. Vipin Kumar, meanwhile, has alleged that Unni Mukundan was under stress following the underwhelming response to his film Marco and had been venting his frustration on those around him.
