Amitabh Bachchan celebrates Navratri with fans; gifts dandiya sticks and helmets at Sunday Jalsa meet: WATCH

Amitabh Bachchan marked his recent Sunday ritual with amusing gifts for all his fans. The superstar’s Jalsa gathering turned extra special as he gifted fans colourful dandiya sticks to mark the Navratri festivities, along with helmets to spread awareness about road safety.

Amitabh Bachchan greets a sea of fans

The video shared on his X (formerly Twitter) handle began with a massive crowd flocking outside Jalsa, his Mumbai residence. Fans had arrived with posters and banners, waiting eagerly to see the veteran star. His staff was first seen throwing dandiya sticks into the crowd before the ‘Sholay’ actor himself stepped out. With folded hands, waves and smiles, he took over the distribution and personally handed gifts to his fans.

Amitabh Bachchan adds helmets to fan gifts

After giving out the dandiya sticks, the ‘Zanjeer’ actor surprised his fans by handing out helmets. He also signed a few pamphlets for his admirers before going back inside. This idea came from his recent meeting with Raghvendra Kumar, better known as the ‘Helmet Man of India’. Raghvendra had appeared on ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati 17’ and had gifted Big B a few helmets on the show.

Big B gets inspired by helmet man’s mission

Sharing the video of the Sunday meet, the ‘Shahenshah’ star wrote, “T 5510 – Honoured to have met the ‘Helmet Man’ at KBC .. who voluntarily gives out helmets to bike riders for safety. A learning for me .. so I followed and gave out at the Sunday Fan meet .. dandiya sticks for dandiya and helmets to as many as I could .. Each day is a learning.”

Raghvendra Kumar thanks Amitabh Bachchan with note

Reacting to the ‘Piku’ actor’s post, Raghvendra wrote, “Respected @SrBachchan Sir. Your words and blessings are the greatest award of my life. I had never imagined that in our very first meeting, I would be able to plant a seed of safety in your heart. But in just two days, you nurtured that small seed into a big tree, and by giving this message to the whole world, you have made this bond eternal.”Kumar further added, “The dream I have seen of a road accident–free India is now ready to grow into a massive movement with your guidance and inspiration. With deepest respect.”

Superstar shares more thoughts in his blog

In his blog, Bachchan reflected on the meeting, writing, “So met the Helmet Man on our episode at KBC , invited under our programme for them that have done service to society .. and what a learning ..A voluntary act but filled with generosity and value – save the lives of those that ignore basic protections!”Bachchan also wrote, “Impressed, I spoke at the episode, as he had expressed, how wonderful it would be if others also thought of this act and did voluntary work for the benefit of those who perhaps were unable to possess one ..And so in a very limited manner made a start at the well-wishers meet on the Sunday gates of Jalsa ..a satisfaction to have carried out what was promised.”

Jalsa darshan sees a festive twist this year

The ‘Silsila’ actor added further, “… dandiya sticks to them that shall play dandiya during this 10 days of festivity .. and a few helmets .. including 2 that the helmet man presented to me on set ..a small beginning, shall ever lead to fruition when the intent is noble and honest .. my gratitude them for the HELMET MAN, as he is commonly known .. and may he and many others follow his noble gesture.”
