Passengers in the First AC coach of the Purushottam Express caught on video allegedly stealing bedrolls provided by Indian Railways, sparking outrage on social media.The viral clip shows railway staff confronting a family accused of packing bedsheets and towels into their luggage at the platform. When questioned, the family reportedly said, “It’s a mistake,” while attempting to justify their actions.The incident led to a verbal spat between railway staff and the family, drawing the attention of passersby.One user on X wrote, “Travelling in 1st AC of Purushottam Express is a matter of pride. Yet some passengers don’t hesitate to steal the bedsheets meant for their comfort.” Another user on X wrote: “Such people are the reason why Indians are abused globally!” Already battling challenges like overcrowding, cleanliness and food quality, Indian Railways is now facing a new problem — alleged theft of its onboard property by passengers.
