PM Modi noticed the gesture and returned the salute, making the child smile in joy. The brief exchange was widely shared online, with users calling it a “gem of a moment.”
In another emotional moment during his visit, a girl named Jasmika Bansal presented PM Modi with a handmade photo collage tracing his life alongside his late mother, Heeraben Modi.
The artwork included images spanning from his childhood to recent years, highlighting the Prime Minister’s enduring bond with his mother.
Speaking to IANS, Jasmika said, “I have taken inspiration from his relationship with his mother.” Her mother, Richa Manish Bansal, added, “On PM Modi’s 75th birthday, my daughter gave him a unique gift. This collage highlights the bond between the Prime Minister and his mother. I want to thank him for accepting it. It’s a special moment for all of us.”
Earlier in the day, PM Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for multiple development projects under the ‘Samudra se Samriddhi’ initiative, with a total investment exceeding Rs 34,200 crore.
Key maritime projects worth Rs 7,870 crore included the Mumbai International Cruise Terminal, new container terminals at Kolkata and Paradip, and coastal protection works at Chennai and Car Nicobar.
In Gujarat, the Prime Minister also launched projects worth Rs 26,354 crore spanning renewable energy, healthcare, and infrastructure.
Notable initiatives included the HPLNG Regasification Terminal at Chhara Port, solarisation projects in Dhordo village, expansions of hospitals in Bhavnagar and Jamnagar, and upgrades to highways.
Despite the large-scale announcements, it was PM Modi’s simple gestures—the salute to the young boy and the acceptance of the heartfelt gift—that resonated most with the public and dominated social media attention.
