Deepika was once called ‘Queen’ by ‘Kalki’ cinematographer

Why Deepika Padukone Was Dropped From Kalki 2898 Ad Sequel, Real Reason Revealed!

Deepika Padukone is rocking the headlines after the makers of ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ announced that the actress is not part of the film’s sequel. However, before everything reportedly went wrong between the makers and the Bollywood star, her performance in the film was massively praised. Back in 2024, the cinematographer of the movie had showered praises on the actress. Let’s take a look at what he had to say about Deepika.

‘Kalki 2898 AD’ cinematographer Djordje Stojiljkovic on Deepika Padukone

In a BTS video shared by the makers, cinematographer Djordje Stojiljkovic opened up about working with actors of the film. Speaking about Deepika Padukone, he can be heard saying, “Now I understand why they call her Queen. She genuinely appreciated the shots I provided. Especially the profile shots. We even joked about making an entire movie in profile someday. Her support and encouragement were priceless, and it really was motivating me to achieve better results every time.”

More about Deepika’s exit from the film

The makers of ‘Kalki 2898 AD 2’ dropped a post announcing her exit. It read, “This is to officially announce that @deepikapadukone will not be a part of the upcoming sequel of #Kalki2898AD. After careful consideration, we have decided to part ways.” The post further read, “Despite the long journey of making the first film, we were unable to find a partnership. And a film like @Kalki2898AD deserves that commitment and much more. We wish her the best with her future projects.” A lot of speculation started doing the rounds on the internet. However, the actress remained tight-lipped about the controversies surrounding her. After exiting the film, Deepika Padukone has started shooting for Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘King’. The actress dropped a post on Instagram, which, according to the netizens, was an indirect reply to the makers of ‘Kalki 2898 AD’.The post read, “The very first lesson he taught me almost 18 years ago while filming Om Shanti Om was that the experience of making a movie, and the people you make it with, matter far more than its success.”
