The Indian Embassy in Nepal on Friday advised Indian citizens to exercise caution while visiting the country. The embassy noted that the situation in Nepal had “improved considerably” in the past week but urged travellers to remain alert and follow future advisories and updates. “Indians travelling to Nepal are advised to exercise due caution and adhere to advisories,” the Embassy in Kathmandu said. Nepal has faced political unrest this month after Gen Z-led protests forced prime minister KP Sharma Oli to resign. Demonstrators stormed Oli’s residence demanding his exit, and later targeted the homes of other leaders. Private residences of Oli and communication minister Prithvi Subba Gurung were also set on fire.
