Russian President Vladimir Putin said the next generation of the country’s political leadership must be veterans of the Ukraine war. Speaking to the members of the Russian State Duma and Ukraine war veterans, Putin said the next leader should be “fearless and willing to risk their lives for motherland.”The Russian leader also revealed that more than 700,000 Russian soldiers are now deployed on the Ukrainian front line.Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Thursday (Sept. 18) said his country’s forces had inflicted “significant losses” on Russian troops during counteroffensive operations in the eastern Donetsk region.
