Russian MP Dmitry Kuznetsov has called on India to join a new BRICS initiative focused on children’s welfare and family values. In a video message, Kuznetsov, who is a Deputy of the State Duma Foreign Affairs Committee, spoke about the importance of cooperation among BRICS nations to secure a better future for the next generation.

“I am very pleased that colleagues from South Africa and Brazil have signed an agreement to create a permanent union, within the framework of which we can work together to help our BRICS children,” Kuznetsov said.

The Russian minister stressed the need for unity, shared values, and mutual understanding in addressing global problems.

“There are still many, many problems that we can solve together. It is in brotherhood, in mutual expression, and in the values that underlie the self-awareness of the people,” he added.

Reaching out directly to India, Kuznetsov said, “Dear Indian public organisations, dear Indian colleagues who share the values of fatherhood, understand that it is necessary to unite for the happiness of our children and for the future of our planet.”

“Please join us, we are open and looking forward to moving towards a better future together,” he urged.

Kuznetsov added that Indian parliamentarians, public groups, and government officials have an important role to play in this movement, which he described as a step towards ensuring happiness and security for children across BRICS nations.

“We must hope that our colleagues from India, parliamentarians, representatives of public organisations and executive authorities will also join our paternal movement, because we are the ones who are responsible for ensuring that everything in our countries, in our relations, is good,” he concluded his message.

The BRICS is a forum for cooperation among a group of leading emerging economies. It now includes 10 countries — Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, the United Arab Emirates, and Indonesia.
