A powerful show of solidarity for Palestine took place on Wednesday night at London’s OVO Arena Wembley, where over 60 international stars gathered for the sold-out “Together for Palestine” fundraising concert.

The event, organised by renowned British artist and activist Brian Eno, brought together actors, musicians, poets, and activists to raise funds for Palestinian humanitarian organisations amid the war in Gaza.

Recommended Stories

The evening featured a diverse line-up of performers and speakers, including celebrated British actors Benedict Cumberbatch and Florence Pugh, musicians Bastille, James Blake, Jamie xx, PinkPantheress, and Palestinian artists such as Sama’ Abdulhadi, Saint Levant, and Elyanna.

Alongside the performances, prominent figures like broadcaster Mehdi Hasan, football legend Eric Cantona, and UN special envoy for Palestine Francesca Albanese spoke about the urgent need for peace and humanitarian aid.

Ahead of the event, a poignant video was released featuring some of the biggest stars—Cillian Murphy, Joaquin Phoenix, Billie Eilish, Sharon Horgan, Steve Coogan, Penelope Cruz, and Peter Gabriel—calling for an immediate ceasefire.

The video, which opened with Murphy and Phoenix saying “Together for Palestine,” captured the urgent message of peace and solidarity that echoed throughout the night.

At the concert, the atmosphere was electric with music and emotion. The night combined heartfelt performances with meaningful activism, drawing a crowd of 12,500 people, all united in their support for Palestine.

One of the most moving moments came when Benedict Cumberbatch recited the poem “On This Land There Are Reasons to Live” by the late Palestinian poet Mahmoud Darwish.

What The Event Was About

The “Together for Palestine” concert aimed to raise funds and awareness for Palestinians affected by the devastating conflict in Gaza. Since the outbreak of war, nearly 65,000 Palestinians have lost their lives, and the humanitarian situation has worsened with the United Nations recently declaring famine in Gaza.

The concert’s proceeds, amounting to £1.5 million, were donated to UK-based charity Choose Love, which supports Palestinian-led organisations providing essential medical aid, child relief, and orphan care programmes in Gaza.

Global Outcry

The fundraiser took place against the backdrop of mounting international outrage over Israel’s ongoing military assault on Gaza, which has drawn accusations of genocide from a UN independent inquiry. Despite the condemnation, the Israeli government continues its offensive, worsening the humanitarian crisis.

Celebrities have increasingly used their platforms to speak out against the violence. At the recent Emmy Awards, stars such as Javier Bardem and Hannah Einbinder made public statements supporting Palestine.
