Once, while speaking to US Weekly, JLo got candid about maintaining a healthy lifestyle and said, “You got to work out, you got to watch what you eat. It’s a job — you’ve got to buckle down.”The second part of her statement has more to it than what meets the eye. “What you eat doesn’t just affect your body; it can also affect the way your skin looks,” she told Hello! in 2021.

Managing the calorie count is one of the most important aspects when it comes to fitness. In 2019, told US Weekly that for maintaining her lean body mass, she prefers a low-calorie breakfast. She starts her day with a 90-calorie chocolate shake with quinoa milk or water.

Avoiding caffeine

Jennifer Lopez doesn’t shy away from enjoying a good cup of coffee; however, she makes sure that it is decaf. It’s been years since the singer-actor had caffeine. Further, as far as alcohol is concerned, there was a time JLo avoided it, but in 2023, through an Instagram post, she admitted to indulging in occasional cocktails. “I do drink responsibly, I don’t drink to get s***faced. I drink to be social and to have a nice time and just relax and let loose a bit, but always responsibly,” she mentioned.

JLo loves to have a colourful plate for lunch, as her meal includes salmon with a veggie-packed salad, which includes broccoli, bell peppers, and zucchini. A drizzle of vinaigrette on top adds flavour.For dinner, it is usually protein with quinoa. “It feels like rice and beans, which I grew up with. And I like pork and chicken — especially Puerto Rican style! I try to eat (dinner) with the kids around 6:30 pm,” said Lopez.

Interviewing with the same portal in 2019, Jennifer Lopez’s trainer, Dodd Romero, revealed that in addition to the clean diet that includes all 4 basics – protein, vegetables, fats, and carbohydrates, the actress maintains proper water intake. “She drinks a minimum of seven glasses a day,” he said, and added, she starts her day with a glass of fresh lemon water.He also claimed that Jennifer maintains her distance from processed foods.
