Rajkumar Hirani shocked by Aamir’s THIS demand

'Dadasaheb Phalke' biopic shoot pushed back; Rajkumar Hirani shocked by Aamir Khan’s THIS demand in script - Report

Aamir Khan and Rajkumar Hirani’s next project is the eagerly awaited collaboration on a biopic about Dadasaheb Phalke, the father of Indian cinema. But as per the latest report, the film has now hit an unexpected roadblock. Fans were excited to see the duo team up again after the massive hits of ‘3 Idiots’ and ‘PK’, but now it seems like the project is on pause.

Aamir Khan felt the script didn’t have ‘enough’ elements

According to a Bollywood Hungama report, “Aamir Khan heard the script of Dadasaheb Phalke from Rajkumar Hirani and Abhijat Joshi. He felt that the script didn’t have enough elements to make for a theatrical watch.”

Aamir Khan expects comedy and emotion in script

Khan expected the usual mix of humour, drama, and emotion from Hirani’s team. “He expected Raju and Abhijat to have a typical approach of mixing laughter with emotion and drama. But the script was devoid of comedy. This raised a doubt in the mind of Aamir, and he requested Raju to rewrite the script and come back.”

Writers reportedly shocked by Aamir Khan’s feedback

The feedback came as a shock to the writers. “Raju and Abhijat were shocked by Aamir’s reaction, and are now figuring out what to do next,” the report said.

Film’s shooting schedule now pushed back

The biopic was supposed to start shooting in October 2025. But that is no longer on track. “The film, which was to start in the month of October 2025, is no longer on track to go on floors next month,” the report revealed.

Aamir Khan begins exploring new script options

With this project on hold, reportedly Aamir Khan has already begun searching for new scripts and is considering projects from across the film industry.
