“Before ending the war, I want to have all agreements in hand. I want to receive a document backed by the U.S. and all European partners. This is very important. To make it a reality, we need a clear position from President Trump,” Zelenskyy said in an interview with Sky News.

He also urged UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer to have a detailed discussion on the issue with the US. “I very much hope he (Starmer) will be able to have a very specific discussion on the security guarantees of the US for Ukraine.”

This comes days after Trump urged NATO members to stop buying Russian oil and impose tariffs on China to pressure Moscow.

Zelenskyy pointed out that “Donald Trump can give us air defence systems in quantity and US has enough”.

“I’m sure the US can apply enough sanctions in order to hurt the Russian economy, plus Donald Trump has enough force to make Putin afraid of him,” he further said.

“Europe has already introduced 18 sanctions packages against Russia. And all that’s lacking now is a strong sanctions package from the US,” he added.
