Chaos broke out in Uttar Pradesh’s Kushinagar when an eight-foot-long python slithered into a shop, leaving locals in shock and panic. The incident took place on Saturday morning when the shopkeeper opened his store and spotted the massive reptile inside. Alarmed, he raised a shout, drawing neighbors who initially tried to chase the python away but failed. A professional snake catcher was then called to the spot.The python’s size made the rescue extremely difficult. After much effort, the snake catcher managed to trap the reptile in a sack. However, while being carried out, the python escaped and crawled under a parked car, causing further commotion on the street. The catcher eventually succeeded in rescuing the reptile safely. Locals believe the python may have entered the shop through a nearby drain, and many were left terrified at its sheer size.Meanwhile, in Madhya Pradesh’s Datia district, police tightened their crackdown on illegal liquor smuggling. Acting on a tip-off, officers intercepted a Bolero vehicle carrying 18 cartons of illicit alcohol, estimated at around ₹68,000 in value. The driver attempted to flee but abandoned the vehicle after it got stuck in a ditch. Police also discovered that the Bolero bore a fake PhD nameplate to avoid suspicion.
