Who is the suspect?

The accused, 37-year-old Yordanis Cobos-Martinez, is a migrant worker. He has a lengthy criminal history, including arrests for grand theft motor vehicle, false imprisonment, carjacking, assault, and indecency with a child in both Florida and Texas, as reported by CBS News. ICE confirmed that Cobos-Martinez had previously been in ERO Dallas custody at the Bluebonnet Detention Center but was released earlier this year under an order of supervision, as reported by NBS News. Officials stated that the beheading “could have been prevented” had he not been free in the US, citing a lack of deportation flights to Cuba under the former US President Joe Biden administration.Video shows Cobos-Martinez being booked at the Dallas County Jail, where he remains on a capital murder charge along with an ICE detainer. At the time of the attack, he was seen in a blood-soaked T-shirt and authorities are still evaluating whether any substances were involved.
