US Vice President carries Charlie Kirk’s casket to Air Force Two

The casket of 31-year-old Charlie Kirk, who was shot during an event at Utah Valley University on September 10, arrived in his home state of Arizona on Air Force Two as US Vice President JD Vance honoured the conservative activist.

According to a report by AP, Vance helped carry Kirk’s casket with a group of uniformed service members as it was loaded onto the plane. The Air Force Two reached Phoenix after a short flight from Salt Lake City, about 40 miles (64 kilometers) from Orem, Utah, where Kirk was assassinated.

At the solemn moment, Vance’s wife and Second Lady, Usha Vance could be seen comforting Kirk’s widow, Erika. Both women wore black and sunglasses. The Vice President was a few steps behind in a dark suit.

The 31-year-old founder of Turning Point USA was fatally shot when attending an event at Utah Valley University on September 10.

As per the video, the suspect can be seen running from left to the far right corner of the building roof. Around 12 pm Mountain Time on September 10, 2025, the subject climbed up to a rooftop; after he shot and killed Charlie Kirk, he jumped off and ran away. He left a gun and ammunition in a wooded area near the university.
