Raj Kundra finally BREAKS silence; DENIES Rs 60-crore fraud allegations against him and Shilpa Shetty: ‘Truth will come out’

Raj Kundra, businessman and film producer-actor, has finally spoken about the allegations of cheating involving him and his wife, actress Shilpa Shetty. While in Delhi for the promotion of his Punjabi film ‘Mehar’, he was asked about the Rs 60-crore fraud case against the couple, and Raj finally gave a statement.

Raj Kundra REACTS to Rs 60 crore allegations

Kundra said that both he and Shilpa are innocent and that the truth will come out. Speaking to India Today, he explained, “Let’s just wait and watch because that’s life for you, and we have not said anything about it because we know we haven’t done anything wrong. The truth will come out eventually. We’ve never done anything wrong in life, and we never will.”He did not go into the details of the case but said he is sure that they have done nothing wrong. Kundra also said that controversies often happen in his life, but so far neither he nor Shilpa Shetty has made any public comments.

What is Raj Kundra-Shilpa Shetty’s Rs 60-crore alleged fraud controversy?

As per reports, the Rs 60-crore cheating case was filed by Mumbai businessman Deepak Kothari. He said that between 2015 and 2023, Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra misused funds that were meant for business growth. The couple owned 87.6% of Best Deal TV’s shares.According to Kothari, the couple first asked for a loan of Rs 75 crore at 12% interest. Later, they asked him to send the money as an ‘investment’ to reduce taxes. They promised monthly returns and repayment of the principal amount.Reportedly, Kothari transferred Rs 31.95 crore in April 2025 and another Rs 28.53 crore in September 2025. Shilpa Shetty resigned as director of Best Deal TV in September 2016, and a year later, the company faced insolvency proceedings for defaulting.

Mumbai police take legal action against the couple

The Mumbai Police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) under sections 403, 406, and 34 of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS). They also issued a lookout circular against Raj Kundra and Shilpa Shetty, stopping them from leaving the country while the investigation continues. The Rs 60-crore case is still being investigated. Mumbai Police are actively examining documents and evidence. Go to Source
