Harbhajan Singh reveals the reason why he calls his wife Geeta Basra ‘Madam’

At the event, as the floor was made open for media interaction, Geeta Basra was seen explaining to the media how forgetful Harbhajan Singh is. She said, “Ye bahot bhulte hai, naam bhulte hai, kaha cheeze rakhi hai vo bhulte hai, kal kya karna hai vo bhool jate hai, his diary, his alarm clock, his everything (He is very forgetful, he forgets names, things, what is he supposed to do, his diary, everything).”She continued, “Ye humare staff ko bhi, jo itne saalo se humare sath kaam kare rhe hai… Pushpa ka naam kuch aur bol denge. Sukar hai mera naam inko yaad hai, ni to mujhe darr hai k mera bhi naam bhool jayenge.. (Our staff, who has been with us for a long time, he calls Pushpa by a different name. Thank God, he remembers my name. I am afraid one day he will forget that too.”To this, the room was filled with laughter. Harbhajan Singh, like a good sport, was also laughing, but he added to his wife’s statement and said, “Ni main actually isliye madam kehta hu, ghar par madam hi bulata hu (That is why I call you madam, and I call you madam when we are at home as well.)” Harbhajan Singh’s quick wit and comic timing left everyone in spilt.
