A violent protest erupted in Patna after a speeding private bus allegedly struck and killed 26-year-old Manish Kumar, who died at the scene while crossing the road. The fatal accident triggered widespread anger among local residents, who blocked the highway and set the bus involved in the crash on fire. As the crowd became increasingly aggressive, four to five additional private vehicles, including SUVs and other cars, were also torched. According to reports, passengers were asked to leave the vehicles before they were set ablaze. Protesters also pelted stones at police personnel, forced firefighters to retreat, and reportedly damaged the equipment of media personnel covering the incident. Additional police forces were deployed to bring the situation under control, while authorities worked to clear the road blockade and restore traffic movement. Police stated that they are identifying those responsible for the violence and investigating the incident. Protesters have also demanded the immediate arrest of the bus driver, who reportedly fled the scene following the fatal accident.
