A livestream from Toronto’s Caribbean Carnival took a serious turn over the weekend after Kick streamer N3on was caught in the middle of an accident involving a golf cart. Short clips from the stream spread online, leaving many people confused about what exactly happened, whether N3on was driving, and what happened to the woman who was injured. With different claims floating around, it’s been hard to separate confirmed facts from internet rumors. The incident happened on Saturday, August 1, during the Grand Parade of the 59th annual Toronto Caribbean Carnival, also known as Caribana. N3on was livestreaming while riding through the packed event in a golf cart. Here’s what actually happened.

Where did the golf cart incident happen and what was N3on’s role?

The accident took place around Exhibition Place and Lake Shore Boulevard, where thousands of people had gathered for Caribana’s Grand Parade. Golf carts are commonly used during the event to move staff and equipment through the large festival grounds. N3on was not behind the wheel. He was sitting in the back of the moving golf cart while another woman drove. Reports also say he was not even in the front passenger seat. At the moment, there is no confirmed information showing that he knew the driver or that she was part of his streaming team.

What can be seen in the livestream footage?

The actual impact isn’t clearly visible in the circulating clips. What viewers do hear is a woman screaming just before the golf cart suddenly comes to a stop.Right after that, everyone on the cart jumps off. N3on looks visibly shaken and repeatedly says, “Oh my God.” He then sits on a nearby curb with his head in his hands before asking someone close to him if the woman had “jumped onto the cart.” According to the response heard in the clip, “she had not,”while the driver continued moving and did not stop.

N3on addresses the backlash and explains why he left the scene

A day later, during his August 2 livestream, N3on addressed the backlash surrounding the accident. He said he wanted to visit the injured woman off-stream to make sure she was okay and pushed back against claims that he was responsible for what happened. According to N3on, he did not know the driver, claiming the golf cart belonged to the Caribana event and was being driven by event staff. He told viewers, “I’m not the guy that drove the golf cart… I don’t even know the driver.”He also responded to criticism that he left the scene instead of helping. N3on argued that he didn’t want to point a camera at an injured person for thousands of viewers, joking, “Am I Jack Doherty?” while explaining why he chose to step away from the livestream. Before wrapping up the topic, N3on added that the woman had come out of surgery”and was “doing good.”However, her condition has not been independently confirmed by officials or medical authorities.
