Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni witnessed one of Hollywood’s vilest lawsuits, dragging many personalities through legal mud. After the intense rupture on the sets of ‘It Ends with Us,’ the back-and-forth of allegations continued for over a year. Of all the things lost in the battle, the actresses reportedly lost a decade-old friendship with beloved singer Taylor Swift. The reports suggest that the bond became a collateral and tangible loss because of the ‘support statement’ that came with a string of leaked text blackmail. Here’s a closer look at Blake Lively and Taylor Swift’s fallout after the generational friendship.

Taylor Swift and Blake Lively: Fallout of friendship

Taylor Swift was named the Godmother of Blake Lively’s first three children, while the singer honoured the children by naming characters around them in the ‘Folklore’ album. When Taylor gave rights to use ‘My Tears Ricochet’ in ‘It Ends with Us,’ Blake was seen accompanying the billionaire singer to the NFL matches and her ‘Eras Tour’ concert. After spending time in public, all of a sudden there was ominous silence between the two. The reports of fallout started emerging, citing that Blake Lively threatened to leak private chats of more than a decade if Taylor Swift did not share a statement of support for her during the battle with Justin Baldoni. According to a Daily Mail report, new revelations surfaced after Baldoni’s lawyers filed a claim that Lively’s lawyers were threatening the singer. The actress had reportedly intimated that if ‘Swift refused to do so [release a statement of support], private text messages of a personal nature in Ms Lively’s possession would be released.’ However, the ‘Gossip Girl’ star’s lawyers vehemently denied the claims.

What did Blake Lively ask Taylor Swift to say?

The report alleges that Lively was a significant part of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s love story, often tagging along with the singer to Kansas City Chiefs games. After the actress failed to attend the 2025 Super Bowl with Swift, the 36-year-old was asked to post on social media about missing Lively. “So sad, my bestie couldn’t come to the Super Bowl,” the requested post is believed to have said. The ‘Green Goblin’ actress reportedly threatened the texts if the ‘Actually Romantic’ singer did not comply with the request. “Blake has never threatened to leak Taylor’s personal or private text messages,” the report stated. As for attending the Super Bowl, the former friends attended the 2024 match together. Blake Lively was reportedly absent from Taylor Swift’s lavish 1,100-guest wedding in New York City.
