Kangana Ranaut after meeting two Gen-Z girls in gym: ‘You are free to live your life… freedom needs accountability’

Kangana Ranaut has once again spoken about Gen-Z, social media and personal freedom. The actress recently shared an interaction she had with two young women at a gym. According to her, the discussion centred on growing up in the digital era and how technology has become inseparable from everyday life.Kangana said the two women explained that they belong to a generation raised with smartphones, social media platforms, dating apps and artificial intelligence. They admitted that many people of their age find it difficult to imagine life without these digital tools. The actress said the conversation eventually shifted to the idea of freedom and the responsibilities that come with it.Sharing the experience on Instagram Stories, Kangana reflected on the exchange and said both sides agreed that freedom should always be accompanied by accountability.

Kangana Ranaut explains her perspective

Recounting the conversation, Kangana said she encouraged the young women to live life according to their own choices. However, she stressed that personal freedom should never come at the cost of harming others. She also referred to recent violent incidents involving young people while explaining why she believes accountability is equally important. She wrote, “Today in the gym I met 2 Gen-Z girls who I know, they asked me Kangana Didi we are born in digital age and yes social media, Instagram, dating apps, AI and all are a way of life for us, most of us are using them and some of us can’t live differently now, everyone wants the freedom to live their life the way they want. I told curious young women that yes you are free to live your life as long as you don’t throw others children off the cliff, or cut them in to many pieces. Since there are too many cases where liberal way of life and conservative way of life is clashing and too many children are getting killed for no fault of theirs and it’s a big concern for us, they agreed that freedom needs accountability. Happy friendship day to my Gen-z friends. Peace out (sic).”

Earlier remarks sparked controversy

Kangana’s latest statement comes shortly after she found herself at the centre of a social media controversy. The actress had previously described Gen-Z as the “gutter generation,” a remark that drew criticism from several quarters.A few days before her latest post, Kangana also used Instagram Stories to address another topic concerning young audiences. She reshared a video of her speech in Parliament, where she responded to a Congress leader who had used her photographs after her election victory from the Mandi Lok Sabha constituency. The actress argued that images from films or high-profile public appearances should not be compared with everyday situations. She said such portrayals are part of her profession and should not be presented as examples for teenagers. In the caption, she wrote, “You want to use my movie character clips I get paid millions to play, high profile show business events where I am surrounded by my own entourage and event planners security forces, you want to use these to convince vulnerable teenagers that she can do the same on the road or in school functions or in dingy clubs? Is it the same thing?”Kangana concluded her earlier post by urging people not to send misleading messages to young audiences. She maintained that public figures and social media users have a responsibility while influencing teenagers. She further added, “Don’t mislead the youth; it’s not the same thing. Today you mislead others’ children; tomorrow it will be yours.”On he work front, Kangana was last seen in ‘Emergency’.
