Dipke responds to PM Modi
NEW DELHI: Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke has once again responded to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s appeal to forgive students accused of abusing him during a protest at Jantar Mantar.In a new video posted on X, Dipke referred to PM Modi’s video message in which the he said he wanted to forgive the students and urged society to help them reform.“Yesterday, we all saw Modi ji’s video where he was saying that he is forgiving the children,” Dipke said, before adding that he expected the Prime Minister to post another video addressing the alleged police action against protesters. “I hope that in that video, Modi ji will apologise — apologise for the lathi charge that took place on July 20,” he said.Dipke then alleged that police had brutally assaulted young female protesters during the July 20 action.“Girls as young as 12 had their heads broken by the police,” he alleged.He further claimed that male police officers tore the girls’ clothes and that protesters were beaten with batons, including on their private parts.“The girls’ clothes were even torn by male police officers and they were beaten. Police also used batons on the girls’ private parts,” Dipke alleged. He said he wanted PM Modi to apologise to all the girls who, according to his allegations, were subjected to the police action.“So I want Modi ji, in tonight’s video, to apologise to all those girls whom the police beat with such brutality,” Dipke said.Dipke had earlier questioned whether Modi’s call for forgiveness would translate into action, asking: “Fraand, sirf reel par hi maaf karoge ya cases bhi wapas loge?” — questioning whether the students would only be forgiven in a social-media video or whether the cases against them would also be withdrawn.The CJP founder had also previously questioned what he described as selective enforcement against abusive speech online, particularly allegations of abusive remarks made against women by people associated with the BJP.“If you are registering cases for abusing, when will cases be registered against those BJP IT Cell people who have been using abusive language for women online for years?” Dipke had said in an earlier video.

He had alleged that people identifying themselves as BJP supporters had targeted women online with abusive language and questioned why similar action was not being taken against them.Dipke’s latest video, however, shifted the focus from the alleged remarks against PM Modi to the treatment of students during the protest, with his main demand being that the Prime Minister apologise to those he alleges were subjected to police violence.
