Rain Fury: Heavy Rains Trigger Flood Chaos in Banswara and Haridwar, Rescue Teams Deployed

Heavy rainfall has disrupted normal life across several parts of India, with Rajasthan and Uttarakhand witnessing severe flooding. In Rajasthan’s Banswara, continuous rain turned roads into fast-flowing streams, leaving vehicles stranded and causing widespread waterlogging. In Hari Akshardham Colony, floodwaters swept away motorcycles and entered several homes, forcing residents indoors. Traffic was severely affected as many vehicles broke down, while locals blamed poor drainage and inadequate civic infrastructure for worsening the situation. Residents urged the municipal authorities to clear blocked drains, improve sewage systems, repair roads, and restore essential civic services. Meanwhile, in Haridwar, Uttarakhand, a major accident was narrowly avoided after a car parked on what appeared to be a dry riverbed was suddenly caught in rising floodwaters. The vehicle belonged to people attending a funeral at a nearby cremation ground. Despite initial attempts by locals to rescue the car, the strong current prevented them from succeeding. Police and rescue teams later reached the spot and used a crane to safely retrieve the vehicle, preventing a potentially serious mishap. Authorities continue to monitor the flood situation.
