Police attached the immovable properties of five Pakistan-based terror handlers

JAMMU: J&K Police attached properties of five Pakistan-based terrorist handlers in Reasi district on Thursday to prevent their misuse for terror financing in the Union Territory. The attachment — linked to a case registered at Mahore PS under the provisions of BNS, Unlawful Activities Prevention Act, and Egress and Internal Movement Control Ordinance Act — was carried out by a police team led by Mahore SDPO Parul Bhardwaj in the presence of the executive magistrate and local witnesses, a spokesperson said. The land belonged to Alaf Din (7 kanals), Ghulam Mohammad (10 kanals and 11 marlas), Mohammed Asraf (17 marlas), Shabir Ahmad (7 kanals and 3 marlas), and Bahar Din (8 kanals and 1 marla). One kanal is approximately 5,445sqft, while one marla measures around 272.2sqft.“During investigation, credible evidence established that the accused had exfiltrated to Pakistan to attain terrorist training. They were currently operating as terrorist handlers from across the border, actively promoting, facilitating, and coordinating activities of ultras. The accused allegedly planned to use the assets to facilitate, finance, and sustain terror acts,” the spokesperson said.

The action was part of J&K Police’s ongoing efforts to dismantle the financial and logistical infrastructure of cross-border terror networks. In a similar exercise on Wednesday, police attached properties worth around Rs 90.7 lakh in Ramban district, belonging to four terrorist handlers operating from Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
