The Conjuring: Last Rites, directed by Michael Chaves and starring Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga in key roles, saw its collections take a dip on Day 6, but that didn’t stop its rise to becoming the highest-earning Hollywood horror film at the Indian box office.

The film, which has been on a record-breaking run at the domestic box office, earned an estimated Rs 3.19 crore, according to early estimates on sacnilk. This was a sharp decline from the film’s weekly average of Rs 5 crore. Wednesday’s collections saw the film’s earnings from its English and Hindi shows tie at Rs 1.5 crore collections each. The Tamil and Telugu versions earned an estimated total of 19 lakh.

Language-wise collection breakdown

So far, the collections earned from the English shows have contributed greatly to the box office, with the film earning an estimated Rs 34.8 crore net in 6 days. The Hindi-dubbed version also contributed significantly, with the film earning a net of Rs 25.7 crore. Meanwhile, the Tamil dubbed version earned an estimated Rs 2.6 crore, and the Telugu version earned an estimated Rs 1.09 crore total.

Highest-earning Hollywood horror film in India

With this, the India net total collection has hit the Rs 64.19 crore mark, thus officially beating the lifetime collections of ‘Final Destination Bloodlines’ (Rs 62.12 crore) to become the highest earning Hollywood horror film in India. The film also beat out its predecessor, ‘The Conjuring 2’, ‘Annabelle’ and ‘The Nun’ to claim the top spot.

Last Rites gross collections

Meanwhile, the film’s gross collections have surpassed the Rs 70 crore mark, with the movie earning an estimated Rs 74 crore in the Indian markets.

Competition from ‘Baaghi 4’ and ‘The Bengal Files’

The film has managed to achieve this within the first week of its release, while also facing stiff competition from other films. The film will, however, face stiff competition domestically. Bollywood titles like ‘Baaghi 4’ and ‘The Bengal Files’. Despite Conjuring seeing a dip in collections, it still emerged at the top, earning at the box office, beating ‘Baaghi 4’, which saw its numbers drop to Rs 2.25 crore net and ‘The Bengal Files’, which earned an estimated Rs 1 crore.
