Court testimony in the D4vd murder case revealed a series of text messages between the singer and 14-year-old Celeste Rivas that were sent just one day before prosecutors say she was killed. According to the messages read in court, Celeste allegedly threatened to kill D4vd during an argument about his friendship with Aysia Collins. Prosecutors say the two later met at D4vd’s Hollywood Hills home, where they believe the fatal crime took place. D4vd has pleaded not guilty to all the charges against him.

Court hears Celeste Rivas allegedly threatened D4vd before fatal meeting

During Monday’s preliminary hearing, prosecutors shared text messages that they said showed a heated argument between Celeste Rivas and D4vd one day before her death. According to the messages read in court, Celeste became angry after finding out that D4vd wanted to stay friends with his former friend, Aysia Collins. She was also upset after learning that Aysia had visited D4vd’s Hollywood Hills home.Court testimony said Celeste allegedly sent several threatening messages to D4vd. The messages included threats to kill him, strangle him, damage his career, and even harm him physically. However, the tone of the conversation changed the very next day. The texts became much friendlier as D4vd arranged an Uber to bring Celeste to his house. At 10:02 p.m., Celeste texted that she was almost there and asked him to open the door if he was home. Eight minutes later, D4vd replied that the gate was open and the door was unlocked.According to prosecutors, Celeste never sent another message after that.

D4vd murder case defence highlights Celeste Rivas’ alleged threats in court

Court records showed that after Celeste stopped replying, D4vd continued sending her messages asking where she was. He wrote messages such as asking if she had arrived, saying “hello,” and asking whether she had blocked him. He also mentioned calling someone named Jen while continuing to wait for a reply.Witnesses in court said D4vd remained calm as the messages were read aloud.During cross-examination, defence lawyer Blair Berk focused on the threatening messages that Celeste had allegedly sent before visiting D4vd. LAPD Detective Corey Farell confirmed that the messages included alleged threats to kill and strangle the singer. The defence also pointed to messages that they said suggested Celeste had previously been violent toward D4vd, had spoken about harming herself, and had insisted on visiting him before his Asia tour.Prosecutors, however, continue to argue that D4vd lured the 14-year-old to his Hollywood Hills home on April 23, 2025. They allege he fatally stabbed her and later dismembered her body. Her remains were discovered months later inside his Tesla.D4vd has pleaded not guilty, and the case is still moving through the court system. The preliminary hearing is expected to continue as both prosecutors and the defence present more evidence before the court decides the next steps.
