Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles said on Monday that production at its Sanand manufacturing plants in Gujarat has been disrupted due to flooding caused by heavy rainfall in the region.
The affected plants manufacture the Tiago, Tigor, Nexon and Sierra models. The company said operations at supplier facilities in and around Gujarat have also been impacted.
“Over the past few days, concerted efforts have been underway to reinstate production operations at both the suppliers’ facilities and the company’s plants on priority. We remain confident that we will be able to restore normalcy over the next few days,” the company said in a regulatory filing.
Tata Motors said the extent of the loss or damage is currently being assessed. It added that an adequate insurance policy covering floods and other natural calamities is in place.
