Police taking the first suspect into custody after mass shooting at Seattle food festival.
About 14 hours after a mass shooting at a food festival near the Space Needle in Seattle, the police are now looking for the second shooter, confirming that they believe that another person was involved. A chaotic scene erupted around 6 p.m. at the 74-acre Seattle Center, which was hosting thousands of people for the Bite of Seattle food festival. The suspects appeared to be shooting at each other and two guns were recovered from the scene.Three people were killed and four others, including a 2-year-old boy, were injured.On Monday morning, local reports said the grounds were closed to the public as vendors were packing up their stands, some left with food that had been cooking, after they were forced to flee amid the chaos.According to police, the shooting occurred outside the Seattle Center Armory, near the building’s northwest corner. Police said there were no cameras that captured the shooting, and investigators are working to locate and speak with witnesses.Cops held press conference 4 hours after the mass shootingThe shooting took place around 6pm and the press conference was held around 11 pm.The Seattle Police Department spokesperson said to WearTV some dignitaries wanted to attend the news conference. Mayor Katie Wilson called the shooting “an unbelievable tragedy.”“I’m sorry that we’re having to gather here tonight under these tragic circumstances. What happened here today at the Seattle Center was an unbelievable tragedy,” Wilson said.The Youth Peace & Justice Foundation is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the identification and arrest of any outstanding suspect(s) in the shooting.

The police did not release any information about the shooters, neither about the person who was already in custody. About the second person who was yet to be arrested, the police comfirmed that it’s a young person who does not appear to be a threat to the general public.The three-day Bite of Seattle festival is one of the city’s busiest annual events: Last year’s festival drew 282,000 people. It’s taken place at Seattle Center for decades and features hundreds of food and retail vendors as well as live music, Seattle Times reported.
