Hollywood A-Listers, including Angelina Jolie, Robert De Niro, Sharon Stone, Martin Scorsese, Rami Malek, and many more, are among the victims whose personal details were breached due to a cyberattack. The contact numbers and email addresses were made publicly available, putting the stars’ personal information at risk due to accessibility. Cybersecurity researcher Jeremiah Fowler flagged the leak last month, deeming it one of the largest celebrity-related exposures yet.

Cybersecurity breach exposes Hollywood A-listers’ contact information

Jeremiah Fowler became acquainted with the breach, and the findings suggest that the databases contained close to 666,000 records dating from 2019 to 2026, consisting of marketing materials, such as press releases, stored on a cloud system, per The Sun. One of the backup files titled ‘contacts’ contained personal information. All records were tied to New York’s annual Tribeca Film Festival, which Robert De Niro launched in 2002. Other victim names include Danny Boyle, Neil Patrick Harris, Michael Douglas, George Lucas, and more. Fowler suggested that the leak was a human error, adding, “It’s really unique because these individuals are so guarded and they protect their personal privacy, their contacts, their phone numbers.” The time period for the details being exposed on the internet has not been tracked down. Moreover, the information was taken down from public access after he contacted the festival chiefs.“What was really interesting was that there was a folder that captured their device information based off the email. It would say what version of an iPhone they were using, if they were using Safari, what version of the software they were using. That could give the bad guys a lot of additional information,” he added about the breach.Jeremiah Fowler believes that no malpractice has occurred by hackers or scammers, as evidence on ransomware or automated notes usually pops up. This incident raises concerns about personal, as well as professional, information stored in the cloud and its security. Go to Source
